General Information: The Facilities Management Engineering & Construction Department at James Madison University is seeking applicants for a Lead Damage Prevention Technician and Infrastructure Inspector. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting campus infrastructure and underground utilities to determine condition and develop plans for necessary maintenance. The position will serve as the Virginia 811 coordinator and lead utility locator by overseeing the locating and marking of university owned utilities. Works closely with project teams in the field to promote safe excavation practices, to prevent damages to infrastructure, to prevent disruption of services, and to support a safe work environment. Duties and Responsibilities: *Manage and respond to Virginia 811 tickets accurately in a timely manner Qualifications: *Experience with underground locating and GPS mapping equipment Additional Posting Information: Conditions of Employment: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and an acceptable MVR.
