Position Title: Machine Operator
Wage: $51,625/year Shift: 2nd, 3rd Hours: 3:30pm-11:30pm, 11:15pm-7:30am QPS Employment Group is seeking experienced Machine Operators for a direct-hire opportunity with a well-established food manufacturing company in Norway, IA. This is not an entry-level role - we are looking for skilled candidates with 3+ years of experience running multiple pieces of production equipment in a food-grade environment. Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Operate and oversee multiple pieces of production and packaging equipment for the majority of your shift - Perform equipment adjustments and troubleshooting to maintain product quality and minimize downtime - Complete major production line changeovers independently, without the assistance of maintenance staff - Perform preventive maintenance tasks and keep accurate maintenance records per SOPs - Train and mentor new team members on safe and efficient machine operation - Collaborate with production planning and quality teams to meet production goals - Conduct quality control checks and monitor critical control points to maintain food safety compliance - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all sanitation, safety, and food safety policies - Identify process improvements and actively contribute to problem-solving efforts Machine Operator Requirements: - High school diploma or GED - Minimum 3 years of machine operating experience in a food-grade manufacturing facility (required) - Proven ability to run multiple machines on a production line - Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues - Strong computer and documentation skills for tracking production and maintenance activities - Ability to read, follow, and communicate detailed written and verbal instructions in English - Team-oriented mindset with strong initiative and problem-solving skills - Physical ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds - Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices preferred Benefits: This company offers a comprehensive benefits package starting the first of the month after 30 days of employment, including - Medical, dental, and vision insurance (for you and eligible dependents) - 401(k) retirement plan - Paid time off and holidays - Life and disability insurance - Wellness program and EAP - Flexible spending accounts and supplemental insurance options QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
