Credence is seeking a Cloud Database Administrator who will assist in the technical solution, installation / configuration / development / implementation, and administration of Cloud based database solution, including homogenous and heterogenous database migration from on-prem to cloud. This will be in an IL-6 Cloud environment.

As a Cloud Database Administrator/Engineer, you will deliver products and services defined throughout the life cycle of the project and support customers to meet their business goals.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

    Install, configure, upgrade, and administer database systems including MongoDB and SQL server databases.
  • Experience managing RDBMS' like Oracle.
  • Ensure compliance to database DoD STIGs.
  • Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures, adhering to best practices and automation.
  • Monitor database health and performance, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively through daily checks of databases, backups, exports, jobs, and storage.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient database interactions, including advising on sharding and indexing strategies.
  • Troubleshoot databases, connections and user access.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.


Education, Requirements and Qualifications

  • Demonstrable understanding of core database concepts, including architecture, design, performance tuning, backup and recovery is required.
  • Experience performing database installations, configurations, and upgrades required.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining systems in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery strategies, including knowledge of backup best practices and automation to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime required.
  • Experience with database replication and sharding strategies for high availability and scalability.
  • Experience with cloud environments and services (RDS, DyanamoDB, EC2, etc.)
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required (must show proof of cert prior to interview).
  • Must have an associate level or professional Database or Cloud certification.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

May be required to at times work in a secure room or SCIF on site or at customer location.
