ABOUT THE ROLE

The Welder's daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to reviewing specifications, laying out metal components, cutting, fabricating, and welding those pieces together to create custom fabrications. Welders and fabricators are expected to complete each job within specific deadlines.

Essential Functions

  • Interpret drawings and plans to understand project scope and specifications

  • Produce templates and other work aids

  • Provide material take-off and rough drawings when needed

  • Utilize industry tools and equipment, including powered saws, hydraulic press brake, shears, portable grinders, and hand files

  • Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves and angles

  • Weld parts out of mild steel, galvanized metal, stainless steel, and sheet metal, in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions

  • Maintain proper equipment; repair when needed

  • Regular and predictable attendance

  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location

  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards

  • Other duties as assigned


ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications in MIG, Hardwire, Flux-Core or Stick - preferred by not mandatory
  • Minimum 3 years of professional welding experience - preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Good working knowledge of standard welding tools including:Press Brake, Metal Lathe, Plasma table, CNC Laser, CNC Router Table, Metal Shear
  • Experience welding aluminum and stainless steel
  • Good understanding of applicable safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Proficiency in basic math
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Problem solving abilities

  • This will be a union position. Wage depends on experience and certifications, and benefits are detailed within the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
