Job summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations. Drafter performs a variety of design/drafting tasks, including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects and preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings.

Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):

  • Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings, and more complex drawings.
  • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with the Engineering Team
  • Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation.
  • Works with the Engineering Manager on guidelines for drawings that meet and exceed production requirements.
  • Maintain notes, design calculations, and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and /performance guarantees) for future reference.
  • Process customer orders and liaise with dealer sales personnel to finalize orders for production.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
    Must be able to think through complex tasks and give alternatives, as they relate to the ambulance product and individual customer requirements.
  • Must be computer literate, must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office Business Suites, including Excel/Word.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks
  • Working independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel to include presenting information to individuals and small groups.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.

Education

  • Associate's degree or completion of technical trade school in SolidWorks, drafting, or related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years manufacturing experience
  • Skilled in PC usage and associated software, including Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of the product - body, interior, exterior, electrical, and how they relate and affect each other.

  • Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
