* Base Pay Range: $82,992.00 -$122,428.80 per year, based on experience

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Assists in developing and monitoring compliance with Helicopter vendor policies, applicable accreditation standards, and FAA
regulations.

Collaborates with the Medical Director in managing the departmental focus on patient- and family-centered care, including a quality assurance and quality improvement program.

Partners with the Prehospital Services Education Coordinator in determining educational priorities and coordinating the total quality management program.

Collaborates with hospital and campus facilities, safety, and emergency management teams on projects and conditions that may affect the safe operation of any MU Health Care helipad.

Collaborates regionally and maintains awareness of regional and state projects and initiatives designed to provide pre-hospital care. Achieves the highest standards possible for air transport critical care.

Confers with physicians and other department managers to resolve operational problems and promote communication and good guest relations with patients and the public. Meets with medical faculty to plan for and support clinical rotations.

Instructs and advises staff on changes in policies, procedures, or working standards. Participates in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures that align with University and Hospital policies and procedures.

Represents and participates in appropriate Hospital committee activities. Assists with monitoring departmental operations and objectives to ensure the most effective services are provided.

Assists with monitoring expenses and managing personnel costs.

Assists in developing, delegating, and monitoring departmental goals, objectives, and programs to ensure timely completion.

Collaborates with other departments to ensure the delivery of quality services.

Supervises assigned registered nurses by providing clinical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to ensure evidence-based, patient-centered care. Oversees administrative functions including performance evaluations, staff development, and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Manages the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.

Monitors and oversees time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.

May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. (for hires as of 9/2025)

Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Two (2) years of RN experience.

Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in nursing or a related field.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20lbs.

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
