Job Summary (Primary function)

The Dermatology Business Director (DBD) leads a team dedicated to success within the dermatology community. The role provides strong leadership and direction and focuses on consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets for the U.S. Incyte Dermatology business unit. The Director plays a critical role in successful promotion of Incyte products, driving demand and successfully launching future medications within the dermatology specialty. Keys to success will be scientific or biologic product experience, strong leadership skills and people development. The ability to lead and provide direction around product strategy platforms, maximize business opportunities and work collaboratively with other key functions are critical to the role.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

  • Represent in a professional, compliant and ethical manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and company policies.
  • Provide guidance to the sales team on marketing, allocating, monitoring, and leveraging internal/external resources (e.g., discretionary spend).
  • Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews.
  • Communicate and coach the execution of product strategies and business plans.
  • Evaluate and coach field sales team members on selling skills, product knowledge, understanding of disease states, and the dermatology market.
  • Conduct sales meetings to drive performance.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain top talent for Dermatology Therapeutic Specialist roles, ensuring a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Employ strong leadership skills, develop business plans for assigned regions, and implement national sales strategies to consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets.

Qualifications (Work experience and competencies)

  • Documentation of success in annual reviews and up-to-date sales reports.
  • Must possess strong professional relationships within the area of responsibility at a regional and local level with dermatologists and healthcare professionals such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities in sales, with the ability to be strategic, lead, and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exceptional knowledge of scientific selling and recent launch experience with highly scientific products or biologic products in immunology or dermatology space. Collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Documented history of successful product launches in a highly competitive market.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of market access reimbursement and patient access.
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of the evolving dermatology marketplace and its various customer segments.
  • A proven track record of successful biotech/pharmaceutical sales leadership experience, preferably in immunology or dermatology, is preferred.
  • Leadership experience highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications. Must have the ability to travel 50% of the time. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
