POSITION SUMMARY

As a CDL Truck Driver with Liberty Packaging, you will contribute to the growth of our business by safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer to ensure the delivery of freight to Liberty Packaging's customers in our local and regional markets.

This full-time position reports directly to the Sr. Shipping Supervisor and is located at our manufacturing facility in Phoenix, Arizona.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate tractor-trailer truck, transporting cargo to and from specified destinations in compliance with FMSCA and DOT guidelines. Load and unload finished product, as necessary.
  • Prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service.
  • Maintain contact with appropriate parties to receive instructions for scheduled delivery or pick up. Obtain bill of lading and necessary paperwork, ensuring documentation is stored correctly.
  • Complete pre- and post-operation inspections according to standards. Maintain DOT logs according to standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and via electronic on-board recording devices. Report issues promptly for correction.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must be at least 25 years of age at time of application.
  • 5+ years documented CDL experience.
  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license.
  • Must meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and all other DOT requirements.
  • Must clear background check and drug/substance abuse screening in accordance with company and DOT policies.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read work instructions to identify detailed steps for order completion.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 1+ years of work experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience within the corrugated industry
  • Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs - Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen Events

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting pay rate for this position is $26.00 per hour (if applicable) plus hourly shift differential pay. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
