Position Description:

At the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), every role contributes to improving health for all. As a Psychometrist I, you'll work directly with patients to administer and score cognitive and behavioral assessments that guide life-changing diagnoses and care. Your expertise helps neuropsychologists deliver timely, accurate insights that shape treatment and support patients and families.

Position Description:

  • Perform psychological/neuropsychological testing on patients as directed in order to measure cognitive, behavioral, and social functioning.
  • Prepare for patient visits by cleaning and organizing the assessment rooms, equipment, supplies, and testing instruments.
  • Greet and assist patients, and ensure that patient questions are managed appropriately by demonstrating proficiency and familiarity with psychometric tests.
  • Facilitate testing through behavior management by controlling the testing environment and complying with regulations and test publisher protocol guidelines.
  • Maintain high test reliability by accurately scoring, interpreting, and summarizing tests administered to patients.
  • Write patient evaluation reports based on tests, measures, behavioral observations, and interviews in order to communicate results.
  • Assist in overseeing the work of graduate students to ensure quality and consistency, as needed.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings as well as in-services to maintain professional expertise.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, maintain patient confidentiality, and demonstrate ethical behavior as defined by the Medical College of Wisconsin, APA, AERA, and NCME.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of related experience.
    • Experience with neuropsychological testing.
    • Familiarity with cognitive and behavioral assessment instruments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with elderly and neurologically impaired patients.
  • Comfort with technology, including large Excel data sets and EMR systems.
