Position Purpose

Under general supervision, the Accountant isresponsible for basic accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations and account analysis.

Functional Responsibility

Essential Duties

Performs beginning to intermediate accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations and other related tasks
Assists Company and Accounting managers in researching general ledger activity and departmental spending levels
Performs analysis on various General Ledger Accounts; investigates questionable data
Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions
Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies and improve current process or procedure
Cross trains in various accounting functions
Assists senior accountants, Managers/Directors with special projects as required
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications

Non-Essential Duties

Filing and other clerical duties as needed in supporting role
SAP report writing and general report writing
Builds working relationships with company cost center managers

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting, is required.

2+ years business experience which includes some or all of the following: general ledger review/analysis, financial statement preparation and/or bookkeeping duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
Attention to detail/thoroughness with deadline-oriented focus
Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel & Word
Familiarity with an enterprise accounting system (such as SAP) is a plus but not required

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Non-Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $24.51 to $38.38. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
