Engineering Intern - Test Development

Job Summary

Dorman is seeking an Engineering Services Intern to join our team for the summer of 2026. For 10 to 12 weeks, you will play an active role as a member of the Testing Development team, a support group to the Product Engineering organization, specifically as it relates to testing. Performance will be monitored to assure learning and development is happening and you will be expected to present project details to our leadership team at the conclusion of the internship. Primary Duties

  • Participate in the ideation, design, implementation, integration and commissioning of test equipment
  • Perform more mundane tasks such as cleaning and organizing
  • Learning the skills required for developing test equipment
  • Execute the creation of one professional grade test system during theinternship period

Qualifications

  • Foundational engineering skills
  • Familiarity with vehicle systems, including engine repair and electronics ispreferred
  • Practical experience building, repairing and problem solving in any realm is prefered
  • 3D Modeling and Drawing for manufacturing is prefered

Education / Experience

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar engineering-related discipline preferred, but not required
