Join our team at Terex Utilities and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Buyer to contribute to the Terex Utilities team in Watertown, SD.

What you'll do

The Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of aftermarket parts, ensuring on-time delivery to customers, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and building strong relationships with suppliers. This role requires strong negotiation skills, analytical ability, and a customer-focused mindset

  • Source and purchase replacement parts from approved suppliers in alignment with company policies and cost objectives.
  • First point of escalation for CSR, Sales, and distribution sites for supplier related issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure on-time availability of parts.
  • Expedite critical parts with suppliers to minimize customer impact.
  • Resolve discrepancies with invoices, shipments, and quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate purchase order data and pricing in the ERP/TMS system.
  • Manage fill rate associated with their accounts.
  • Backorder management and backorder reduction.
  • TCX case management and follow up.
  • Inventory turn directly tied to planned parts.
  • Proactively communicate service risks and recovery timing to the organization and develop and execute plans to mitigate risk.
  • Assist Engineering team in addressing ECO (Engineering change orders).

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 2 - 3 years of Supply Chain Planning Experience preferred.
  • Background in supplier/account management.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation.
  • Highly capable of problem solving, prioritizing and multi-tasking techniques.
  • Extensive MS Office skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a high performing Purchasing, Materials or Supply Chain Professional.
  • Supplier management background.
  • Ability to operate well in a fast-paced environment with priorities that change daily.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and ERP/TMS systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Problem solving mindset.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
