The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. SPA's NATO Allied Command Transformation Group, within JOID, provides capability development, portfolio management, program management, quality management, cost estimation analysis, standardization, reporting, software solutions and information management, and capability management support. We also provide an improved capability requirements capture process, including the generation, documentation and tracing of user requirements, with appropriate technical scrutiny, over the entire lifecycle of the requirements from capability definition through capability realization and capability usage. We have a near-term need for a Strategic Analyst to provide onsite support out of Norfolk, VA. Responsibilities The contractor will be under the responsibility of the Strategic Alternative (SALT) Branch Head and will be involved in all aspects of SALT work, to include writing reports, coordination of workshops and working groups, and development of numerous products related to Warfare Development. Attend weekly SALT meetings, both scheduled and unscheduled, at the direction of the Branch head. Support implementation of the Long Term Military Strategy Shaping Program of Work (LTMSS PoW). Travel to attend relevant external meetings/workshops/events. Facilitate and prepare workshops and other related events such as wargames. Provide valuable input on NWCC and WDA and offer ideas and related analysis. Interpret military, political, economic, sociocultural, and technological trends and develop alternatives ways of assessment. Conduct research and data analysis to inform strategic decisions, especially on China and the Sino-Russian relationship. Understand and shape the NATO's/ACT's strategy and mission. Develop plans to materialize long-term strategy and analyze development proposals. Conduct research to identify threats and opportunities. Construct forecasts and analytical models. Monitor and analyze global trends (cognitive topics, international relations, global security environment, industry and market changes, etc. Be available to ACT leadership for NATO Warfare Capstone Concept/Warfare Development Agenda (NWCC/WDA) related requirements. Collaborate with HQ SACT cross-functional teams to provide strategic thoughts and inputs. Provide feedback about their work clearly and concisely. Fulfill other specific WDA and LTMSS related tasks as directed by the SALT Branch Head. Qualifications Required:
