REO Enablement Leader

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary REO Enablement Leader to play a critical role within our Reliability Engineering and Operations (REO) organization, reporting directly to the Head of Reliability Engineering. This role is responsible for orchestrating the strategic execution of the REO roadmap, ensuring that all capability domains progress in maturity according to the REO CMMI framework.

The Enablement Leader will serve as the strategic integrator and governance hub, driving alignment across product leads, capability leaders, and business stakeholders. This leader ensures disciplined execution of REO strategy, transparency of maturity progress, and cross-functional engagement, while continuously evolving the REO CMMI framework as both an operating model and maturity discipline.

This role requires a proven leader of Product leaders, capable of managing senior managers, directors, and senior individual contributors, fostering an environment of accountability, empowerment, and professional growth while ensuring alignment to REO's strategic vision.

The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with programmatic execution, enabling organizational alignment, governance, and maturity progress tracking. This leader will be instrumental in ensuring REO delivers measurable value, operational resilience, and transparency to executives, stakeholders, and the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Orchestration & Roadmap Governance

  • Drive and maintain the REO strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and operational excellence.

  • Lead execution against CMMI capability milestones across all REO domains.

  • Govern cross-functional coordination between capability leaders, business stakeholders, and the PMO.

  • Ensure REO maturity efforts align with regulatory, risk, and business reliability expectations.

Portfolio & Initiative Leadership

  • Manage the portfolio of REO-aligned initiatives, partnering with product leads to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Establish clear accountability, milestone tracking, and maturity progression for each initiative.

  • Proactively identify and address capability gaps and dependencies across domains.

Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Visibility

  • Provide maturity progress transparency to the REO Head, senior executives, and governance forums.

  • Deliver clear, impactful communications that highlight REO achievements, risks, and roadmap progress.

  • Foster high levels of stakeholder satisfaction by aligning REO execution to business needs and priorities.

Framework Evolution & Continuous Improvement

  • Contributes to the evolution of the REO CMMI framework as both a maturity model and an operating discipline.

  • Drive adoption of consistent governance, reporting, and execution practices across REO capabilities.

  • Ensure continuous improvement of REO maturity measurement and executive reporting processes.

Direct Reports

(Note: Upon hire of the new leader, the 2nd VP will engage the new leader in hiring decisions for the direct reports as described below)

  • REO Platform & Engineering Product Lead - advancing platform, tooling, observability, and automation maturity.

  • REO Quality & Resilience Product Lead - maturing quality engineering, resilience, and performance practices.

  • REO Operations & Services Product Lead - evolving operational services, incident management, and change governance.

Qualifications

    Experience

    • Proven leadership in program execution, strategic alignment, and governance within technology organizations.

    • Demonstrated success in managing and developing senior leaders (Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, and senior ICs), creating high-performing teams aligned to strategic objectives.

    • Deep experience leading cross-functional portfolios and driving maturity initiatives in regulated industries.

    • Demonstrated success in executive communications, roadmap execution, and stakeholder alignment.

    Skills

    • Strategic and operational leadership in governance, portfolio management, and maturity frameworks.

    • Expertise in roadmap design, capability assessment, and CMMI-aligned execution.

    • Strong ability to align organizational maturity initiatives with business reliability and resilience goals.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to influence executives.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.

    • Advanced certifications in program/portfolio management, IT governance, CMMI, or organizational maturity frameworks are highly preferred.

    The estimated base pay range for this job is:

    $124,000.00 - $230,000.00

    Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
