We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling a variety of sub-assemblies and performing bench or floor erection to complete package heater units. The position requires working from blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions to ensure accurate and efficient assembly.

This position reports to the Production Supervisor. This role is onsite.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Assemble mechanical and/or electrical components into finished heater units.
  • Skilled in precision fitting of components to meet tight tolerances and engineering specifications.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to complete tasks.
  • Inspect parts and completed assemblies for quality and accuracy.
  • Proficient in packaging components and equipment for shipment, ensuring proper protection, labeling, and compliance with handling standards.
  • Must understand Kanban; use Kanban cards and to reorder parts.
  • Prepare surfaces, apply paint, and ensure a high-quality finish on units as part of the final assembly process.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years' experience in mechanical assembly.
  • Understanding of and adherence to appliable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including drug screen, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Ability to handle light and average weight parts.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely.

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company's Blauvelt, NY location. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to move up to 2,000 lbs. of equipment using pallet jacks, dollies and overhead cranes.
  • Physical awareness: ability to work in an environment with active fork trucks.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard or bump caps, and hearing protection as required while present on the shop floor.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery, tools, and assembly equipment.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.

Pay Range:

This is a union position, and the starting hourly rate is $26.22; top rate for position is $28.81 which will be achieved by end of 1 year of service as long as job performance is meets expectations or above.
