Position Overview

Quality Lead are responsible for ensuring that all products released from the site meet defined customer requirements. This shall be accomplished using effective manufacturing methods with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing scrap. This role provides quality support to production. Support the Quality Department's efforts to improve outgoing product quality and department efficiency throughout the operation.



Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Pay rate: $30-$35 per hour
Occasional flexibility to support night shift operations as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including but not limited to:

    • Company and facility Policies
    • Safety - LTCT; use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules
    • Quality - PQCT/Inspection Plans, Specifications, Testing Frequencies and Procedures
    • SOPs - Methods for performing work
    • SSOP/Good Housekeeping standards (keep machines and area sanitized and clean)
    • Good Manufacturing Practices
    • Food/Safety Security
    • HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
    • Food Regulatory and Customer Spec


  • Accountable for ensuring that product testing is performed per the PQCT/Inspection Plan for all article types
  • Perform product audits as needed to ensure on-going quality
  • Responsible for start-up and in-process verification tests and document results to specification and meet all quality requirements
  • Accountable for understanding specifications and PQCT/Inspection plans for various product types
  • Ensure that quality product standards are upheld and that any suspect product is identified, held, and handled in accordance to established practices, including recording appropriate data in Non-Conforming/Hold database, and communicating status to Quality Facilitator and Shift Lead
  • Verify any "out of control" conditions and report to the appropriate staff - Mold Tech, Operator, Shift Lead; follow up to ensure appropriate adjustments are made and product/process is acceptable
  • Participate in daily shift pass-on meetings to ensure any issues or product concerns are communicated to on-coming personnel
  • Answer any quality questions generated by mold techs/operators/packers/shift leads as to what is acceptable, marginal, or defective

Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Previous manufacturing and Quality experience is preferred
  • Data entry, Microsoft Outlook, Excel
  • Experience with blueprints
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Drive for superior quality products
  • Ability to effectively gather and present information
  • Ability to use a stereoscope, hand tools and experience with CMM's, and read specs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and maintain strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
