Job Summary


The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $63,500 - $76,200 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Department of Pharmaceutical Services at UCSF has long been nationally recognized as one of the founding fathers for clinical pharmacy services, which was established in 1965. Today, the department continues to lead the profession through the integration of advanced technology & robotics, comprehensive pharmaceutical care and clinical services.

Required Qualifications

* Must be available and willing to work a minimum of 1 major and 2 minor holidays annually*
* Must be available and willing to work a minimum of 32 hours monthly*
* Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with a large, diverse population including maintaining good relationship between Pharmacy and Nursing Units.
* Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities to compound pharmaceutical preparations and prepare commercially unavailable oral preparations. These manipulations require mathematical calculations, use of analytical balance and pharmaceutical compounding technique.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under constant pressure.
* Ability to use good judgment in responding to or referring questions by nurses, physicians, and other professional personnel.
* Knowledge, skills, and ability to perform basic computer entries.
* Able and willing to work at all UCSF Health Campuses

Preferred Qualifications

* Health-system pharmacy practice experience (Aseptic compounding, automated drug cabinet, etc).
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

License/Certification


  • Licensed Intern Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing.
