Project Manager

RK&K is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager skilled in Highway, Transportation and construction projects to join our team in the Dover area. This role is pivotal in pursuing, obtaining, and ensuring the quality of our projects across Delaware as well as within our broader company portfolio. As a Project Manager on our construction team, you will provide a wide variety of lead and support roles on various transportation/highway engineering tasks. Coordination with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project staff will be required.

Essential Functions

• Focus on client relationship development and strategic growth initiatives
• Serve as liaison between client and firm
• Recruit CEI technical staff
• Provide oversight and quality control and quality assurance for work performed under each agency contract
• Update and track financial information, including cost projections for projects
• Perform technical roles as needed
• Manage assigned project elements as an owner's representative, ensuring contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction projects
• Interpret contract requirements, provide technical guidance to staff, and ensure the quality of work products
• Review and certify engineering documents to meet quality control goals and standards of care
• Understand Highway Design Standards, and other highway design manuals and guidelines
• Support proposal and business development efforts across RK&K

Required Skills and Experience

• Ten (10)+ years of experience in civil engineering design and/or transportation/highway engineering
• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License
• Strong knowledge of project management planning related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance
• Strong understanding of Federal, State and local design criteria
• Proficiency in computer usage, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite software
• Possess an acceptable driving record

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience leading and supporting project with local DOT, public and local government agencies as well as private entities
• Alternative project delivery experience is a plus
• Previous experience with Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Capital Improvements, and local municipalities
• Involvement with relevant Professional Societies
