Job Description
The Hub Inventory Scanning Associate is a crucial member of our operations team, responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient management of all site inventory. This role involves meticulous scanning, tracking, and reporting of materials, maintaining optimal stock levels, and contributing to overall inventory accuracy and operational efficiency within the hub. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess a strong understanding of inventory principles and material handling best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate Scanning and Tracking:
- Utilize handheld scanners and inventory management software to accurately receive, stock, pick, and transfer inventory items within the hub as well as to and from branches and vendors.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy in quantity, type, and quality.
- Record and reconcile any discrepancies found during the scanning and receiving process.
- Maintain the integrity of inventory data by ensuring all movements and transactions are correctly logged in real-time.
- Inventory Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular inventory reports (e.g., daily stock levels, cycle counts, discrepancy reports) to provide insights into inventory status.
- Assist in identifying slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged inventory and report findings to management.
- Contribute to data analysis to support inventory optimization strategies.
- Ordering Levels and Replenishment:
- Monitor current stock levels against established minimums and maximums to identify replenishment needs.
- Initiate or assist with the creation of inventory orders based on predefined reorder points and forecasted demand.
- Communicate with procurement or suppliers regarding order status and delivery schedules.
- Maintaining Adequate Inventory:
- Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in physical inventory counts to verify accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Implement and maintain efficient inventory flow processes to minimize bottlenecks.
- Forecasting Support:
- Collaborate with relevant teams (e.g., sales, production) to understand upcoming demands and contribute to more accurate inventory forecasting.
- Identify trends in inventory usage and report observations to aid in future planning.
- Material Handling:
- Safely and efficiently move, store, and retrieve materials using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures related to material handling and warehouse operations.
- Ensure proper stacking and storage to maximize space utilization and prevent damage.
- Labeling:
- Create and apply accurate labels to all inventory items, locations, and shipments, ensuring proper identification and traceability.
- Maintain labeling systems and ensure all items are clearly and correctly marked.
- General Duties:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with other warehouse and inventory-related tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g., WMS, RF Smart) and handheld scanning devices.
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel proficiency is a must).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift and move up to [Specify weight, e.g., 50 pounds] regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain).

The pays $22.00 to $25.00 an hour and includes benefits such as the following:
