Systems Engineer - DCGS-N Support

Location: Makalapa, HI

Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support the Distributed Common Ground System-Navy (DCGS-N) Increment 2 Ashore System (DAS) at COMPACFLT in Makalapa, Hawaii. DCGS-N is the Navy's premier Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) processing system. This role is critical to maintaining system integrity, streamlining operations, and ensuring mission readiness

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the DAS system, including patching, reinstallation, and configuration.

  • Manage user accounts in compliance with DoD and local security protocols.

  • Diagnose, document, and resolve system issues across development, test, and production environments.

  • Collaborate with NIWCLant engineering teams to develop and implement system fixes.

  • Coordinate with NIWCLant and local Information Assurance (IA) teams to address vulnerabilities and conduct system scans.

  • Build and maintain automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant IT experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (additional experience, training, and/or certifications may substitute degree requirement).

  • US Citizen; Currently possess an active TS/SCI clearance.

  • DoD 8140 IAT II compliance: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent, plus vendor certifications in Windows, Linux, VMware, or Cisco (CCNA/CCNP).

  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows 11 SHB, and Windows Server 2019/2022 SHB environments.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting DCGS-N or other C4ISR systems.

  • Familiarity with Dell servers, NetApp storage, Cisco networking equipment, firewalls, and cryptographic devices.

  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies: VMware (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi), Microsoft Hyper-V.

  • AWS Associate Certification (Developer, Solutions Architect, or SysOps Administrator).

  • Experience with container orchestration platforms: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS EKS/ECS/ECR.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in remote and team-based environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
