Position Summary

Under the direction of the Engineering Project Manager, the primary role of the Process Electronics Specialist Craft is to assist maintenance craft with troubleshooting and repairing equipment breakdowns - when it relates to breakdowns involving the equipment's control system. The secondary role is to assist Electrical Engineers and/or Process Electronics Specialists with projects and to organize, manage and maintain all process-related control hardware and software, including maintenance of necessary spares to prevent significant failure that would interfere with production. As a result, the Process Electronics Specialist Craft is very knowledgeable of PLC and HMI equipment and control system processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Assist maintenance craft in the troubleshooting and repair of electrical / electronic breakdowns.
* Organize, manage, and maintain all process-related control hardware/software for assigned area, including identification and replacement of obsolete systems to prevent catastrophic failures.
* Utilize PLC theory and application, advanced electronics, and the ability to configure/program to make control systems operational (PLC/HMI).
* Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with Electronics Engineer and draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
* Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
* Provide training for maintenance craft.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Experience with Allen Bradley software programming suites, this includes but is not limited to RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View Studio a must

Education and Experience

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
