Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgical procedures and ensure seamless communication between patients, physicians, and surgical teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical scheduling, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities: * Schedule surgical procedures accurately and efficiently, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff. * Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and pre-authorization requirements prior to scheduling. * Communicate surgical instructions and pre-operative requirements to patients and ensure understanding. * Maintain and update surgery schedules in the electronic health record (EHR) and scheduling systems. * Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure proper documentation and readiness for procedures. * Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and staff regarding scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling. * Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies related to patient confidentiality and data handling. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or medical office training preferred. * 2+ years of experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administration, preferably in a surgical setting. * Proficiency in EHR systems and scheduling software. * Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. * Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment #westpriority *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
