Description Sr Network Security Engineer Position Summary Senior-level technical role focusing on Secure Web Gateway / Secure Service Edge technologies (Zscaler ZIA / ZPA) and network Firewalls (Palo Alto / Checkpoint). This role will provide engineering, design and troubleshooting of said technologies within the context of ongoing M&A projects, as well as in direct support of global network security initiatives. Job Description & Responsibilities: Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Provide input and recommendations on effective use of Zscaler capabilities based on industry experience and best practice Employ advanced troubleshooting of Zscaler issues escalated from 1st level support Collaborate, support and influence strategic managed service partner(s) and vendors. Collaborate with and support Network Security team, Network Architect, Network Automation team, Cloud, CNF & DC Network team, Site Network Services team, Network PMO team, IT Security organisation, Area Infrastructure organisations and other global IT product teams. Collaborate with varying levels of management within IT infrastructure, applications and Information Security to translate leadership directives into technical actions. Establish and manage documentation and standards in given technical area. Provide analysis of traffic log data and perform analytics to produce concise reporting utilizing tools such as Splunk Experience Required: Minimum (7) years IT professional experience Minimum (5) years experience managing Zscaler technologies and firewalls Experience Desired: 6-9 years of experience in network engineering / network security related roles with extensive experience in Zero Trust Network Access, Secure Web Gateway technologies and firewalls. Education and Training Required Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred, or equivalent industry experience Primary Skills We need an excellent communicator with strong problem resolution skills who thrives on working in a team environment. In addition, we require: Broad network and network security knowledge, with depth in one or more network security technologies (Firewall, IPS, SWG, SSE) Strong competence in analyzing firewall log data and creating meaningful reports and dashboards utilizing Splunk. Competency in infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible preferred Strong collaboration and communication skills Aptitude for technical leadership Attention to detail. Professional approach Proactive with a continuous improvement mindset Logical reasoning and information-driven decision-making approach. Demonstrated levels of autonomy and independence Strong trouble-shooting skills, complex incident management response, demonstrated experience of problem and root-cause investigation. Otherwise will look at remote candidates Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
