The Enterprise Architect will collaborate with the entire range of technical and management resources within the Solutions arm of Business to advise on and establish enterprise architecture frameworks and road maps. Architect and develops applications by developing design specifications and writing code based upon the design and business requirements under the direction of the Development Manager and Project Manager. Takes an active role in the development group by sharing knowledge and mentoring others. This candidate is a member of a team, must adhere to secure development process and configuration management process and must be able to work cooperatively and autonomously. Location: Fort Mill, SC (preferred), NYC 2nd choice, Austin 3rd | Hybrid (3 days onsite) Contract Duration: 12 months Travel: Initial 6 - 8 weeks in Massachusetts, then quarterly visits Team: Platform Architecture Overview: Our client is seeking a hands-on technical architect to lead the migration of applications and infrastructure into new data centers. Key Responsibilities: Identify and map all hosted applications and their dependencies. Develop migration plans and 3-year roadmaps for applications that cannot move immediately. Collaborate with teams to determine which personnel and tools must be retained. Create clear, business-friendly architecture diagrams and documentation. Work closely with networking engineering teams to address backbone system constraints. Engage with product and business partners to align technical plans with financial goals. Technical Environment: Primary stack: .NET, with some Java and emerging Python practices. Cloud: Azure (primary), AWS (growing footprint). Infrastructure: Active Directory, Kafka, API Gateways, Firewalls, Storage Systems. Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven experience in data center migrations, network tracing, and dependency mapping. Strong understanding of cloud platforms, networking layers, and application architecture. Comfortable working in ambiguity and defining loosely scoped applications. Excellent communicator with ability to distill technical diagrams for business stakeholders. Soft Skills: Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration. Ability to work independently and dive deep into technical environments. Not focused on certifications, but Azure/AWS credentials are a plus. *Skills* Data Center Migration, Application Discovery, Networking Architecture, Cloud, Python, Data Architecture, Kafka, .NET, Java, API Management Tools, Firewall Technologies, lucidchart *Top Skills Details* Data Center Migration, Application Discovery, Networking Architecture *Additional Skills & Qualifications* 1, They are running on Azure and a little bit of AWS. Familiarity with both is a nice to have. Azure and AWS certifications is a plus 2. Python Programming - emerging in org in the data science and AI contexts. 3. Data Architecture - ability to understand data flows, storage architecture, data dependencies 4. Kafka - understanding of Kafkas role in backbone systems and how it interacts with networking application layers 5. .NET / Java - primary tech stack is .NET and Java on the edges. 6. API Management Tools - exposure to tools like Kong, DataPower, and AWS API Gateway. 7. Security and Firewall Technologies - experience with AWS Web Application Firewall, Palo Alto devices, and F5. 8. Architecture Diagramming Tools - ability to use tools like Lucidchart, Visio, or similar to create clear, actionable diagrams. *Experience Level* Expert Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $85.00/hr.
