Job Summary: Assists with supervising and directing activities of snowmakers in accordance with company policies and procedures. Performs all functions of snowmakers.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $22.96 - $32.14

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned:
  • Supervise a team of 1-25 employees. Assist in supervisory responsibilities such as training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and correcting employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Enforce safety standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Take accurate readings and record data related to snowmaking on an hourly basis during snowmaking operations
  • Assists in training and development of entry and intermediate level staff
  • Operate and maintain snowmaking facility, ponds, pump houses, compressor rooms, locker rooms, facilities in a clean and orderly manner. Perform general cleaning and housekeeping tasks.
  • Attend training events/opportunities as requested by management.
  • Set up, tear down, and maintain snowmaking system: gun and hoses set up, machine check out, on hill shoveling.
  • Manufacture snow which meets or exceeds established quality standards.
  • Travel over the snow on steep terrain by foot or via snowmobile in order to check on system operation and to perform adjustments and minor repairs.
  • Monitor quality of snow produced; adjust snowmaking equipment as necessary.
  • Responsible for submitting Daily Snowmaking Report on time.
  • Maintains Daily Snowmaking Logs.
  • Completes all required documentation; comply with all applicable laws & policies.
  • Accurate record keeping regarding significant events and machine performance.
  • Help facilitate repairs of operational problems immediately.
  • Recommends adjustments to improve snow quality and efficiency.
  • Perform all the job responsibilities and duties of snowmakers.
  • Must be able to operate snowmaking equipment and snowmobiles in compliance with the Palisades Tahoe safety policy.

Required:
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, oral & written.
  • Successful interpersonal skills Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with others.
  • Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Access).


Education and Experience:

Required:
  • Experience/familiarity with Palisades Tahoe snowmaking system.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Snowmaker.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, smell, and ski. Must be capable of walking or standing 70% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally balancing, climbing, reaching, squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crawling. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 75lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may encounter extreme winter cold and blizzard conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate, this job may experience hazards such as mechanical, electrical, fumes, odors, dusts, gases.

Equipment Used in Job: Snow guns, hoses, hydrants, hand tools, propane torches, snowmobiles, skis/snowboard.
