Location: This position will be on-site full-time in Newburyport, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).
Systems Administrator Summary:
The Systems Administrator plays a key role in our day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our company's tech assets. This role involves not just maintaining our systems but actively enhancing them to improve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of technology resources. Systems Administrator Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and administers desktop, server, and network software / hardware (switches, firewalls, servers, desktop, printers, etc.).
- Manages and administers Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and other Office 365 systems (i.e. Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
- Provides technical support to end-users through the helpdesk and phone calls.
- Installs software for users and / or business systems.
- Assists in the monitoring of backups, network availability and overall system health.
- Assists with recommendations for hardware and software purchases.
- Acts as a backup for any disaster recovery related procedures.
- Acts as a backup for any ERP system related administrative tasks.
- Creates and maintains system and network documentation.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Systems Administrator Qualification Requirements:
- Required
- Associate's degree in computer sciences or similar discipline and 3-5 years of systems administration experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a solid understanding of networking and network services (i.e. DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and VPNs).
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and Office 365 administration.
- Experience managing VMWare or similar virtualization products.
- Experience managing desktop, server and network software / hardware (i.e. configuring OS, installing drivers, port configuration, etc.).
- Experience automating tasks using scripting / tools (i.e. PowerShell, Power Automate, python, etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Exceptional attention to detail skills.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong internal customer service skills.
- Preferred
- Experience with application / patch deployment, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with endpoint security and desktop imaging solutions.
- Experience with SQL server administration.
- Understanding of ERP systems and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with managing Unix / Linux systems.
- Industry related certifications.
