The Senior Design Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer position's role is to ensure development programs are compliant to internal and external requirements so that we can successfully transition them to production. This position is embedded in our development programs and works closely with Program Management and Engineering in the up front design effort.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

This QA role will work with program managers and functional department leads to insure that quality is being addressed at all phases of product development, leading periodic quality review meetings and following up on identified improvement initiatives to drive Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and implementing robust corrective actions to ensure that quality standards and contractual obligations are fulfilled and that customer's quality requirements are met on all products by reviewing all design, manufacturing, test, and supplier documentation. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design Engineering Responsibilities
  • Attend, Review, and Approve all Design Gates
  • Review and Approve plans for Design Builds
  • Audit and ensure compliance for all Design Builds (As defined during the tailoring effort)
  • Participate early in design activity to ensure producibility and manufacturability of new products
  • Participate in failure analysis resulting from engineering and qualification tests
  • Perform quality review of hardware workmanship during engineering builds
  • Analyze data with a design or production team to provide clear corrective action
  • Participate in drawing/BOM review and approval (CCB)
  • Review and assure adherence to PSS/Customer Specifications/Standards during Design Development
  • Support and generate shipping documentation
  • Participate in process audits as requested.
  • Program Management Responsibilities
  • Customer Interaction during Project Reviews and weekly/monthly meetings
  • Develop and Provide Quality Plans
  • Review and participate in the development of Manufacturing Plans
  • Generate and Support Customer Presentations at all System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process meetings.
  • Review incoming Contract/SOWs for quality and compliance requirements
  • Develop and maintain process metrics
  • Develop and improve Sonobuoy System's Quality Management System (QMS) Procedures
  • Support adherence to QMS Procedures
  • Generate, review, and approve Corrective Action Requests (CAR)/CAR responses
  • Continuous Improvement Activities
  • Support Failure Analysis process and tools across the organization.
  • Assists with any failure analysis effort/teams as requested.
  • Suggest or make improvement to internal process to improve quality by participating in process groups when requested

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)

7+ years of experience in Quality

AS9100 and DOD experience
Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance. Security Clearances are granted to US Citizens
