The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs emergency repair and routine general maintenance to buildings and grounds; directs and assists contractors in the performance of assigned functions; and other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTwo years of performing facilities maintenance or the equivalent. Must be able to obtain and maintain Technician Type Universal Certification. Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification. Have an intermediate knowledge of buildings and grounds maintenance procedures; carpentry, plumbing, solar, electrical, landscaping, card access systems, security camera systems, HVAC systems, fire alarm system, energy management systems, emergency back-up power systems and other building maintenance activities; tools and equipment used to make repairs and perform maintenance; knowledge of modular furniture assembly; master site plan systems; janitorial procedures; troubleshooting techniques; the ability to prioritize workload; safety and emergency procedures, hazardous disposal knowledge. General use or basic knowledge of personal computer. Employees must maintain all certifications as needed to perform the job. TYPICAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Responsibilities/duties performed)
