Job Description

Position Reporting & Basic Function:

The position is part of the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) Fiscal Service Center and will provide fiscal management to the following departments:

  • Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering
  • Linda and Bipin Doshi Department of Chemical & Biochemical Enigineering

The position will work directly with Department Chairs, faculty, and staff to maintain accounting standards and controls to facilitate sound fiscal management, planning, and decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with University, regulatory, fiscal, and reporting requirements
  • Work closely with Service Center team to evaluate and streamline processes and practices
  • Complete reviews of department financial transactions
  • Resolve errors, develop solutions for improvement/efficiency and bring issues to appropriate parties
  • Reconcile payroll, department and faculty accounts, grants, etc.
  • Generate financial reports for Department Chairs, faculty, and staff
  • Make informed judgements based on policy and provide recommendations to department leadership
  • Utilize financial and accounting system applications, databases, and spreadsheets
  • Manage annual departmental budgets
  • Administer departmental purchasing cards
  • Monitor spending limits, pending expense reports, past due transactions, etc.
  • Serve as a fiscal liaison for the department
  • Provide policy and process guidance which may include recommending best practices for purchasing and other fiscal topics
  • May occasionally assist department staff to ensure consistent coverage for department
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Shift

Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel-Pivot Tables), PeopleSoft, PowerBI, databases, and other business software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in working with numerical data
  • Organized with ability to successfully manage and meet multiple deadlines
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.87-$21.38 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
