Job Objective:
Responsible for independently supporting the installation, maintenance, and optimization of SCADA systems across oil and gas assets. This role ensures the integrity and reliability of real-time operational data and contributes to system upgrades and improvements while mentoring SCADA Engineer I. This role will serve as backup to the SCADA Technician III role.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Available after hours and weekends for assistance as needed.
- Install, configure, and maintain SCADA hardware/software, including RTUs, PLCs, Flow Computers, Protocol Converters, RF communication, HMI.
- Troubleshoot complex communication and instrumentation issues across SCADA networks.
- Perform diagnostics and calibration on SCADA-controlled field equipment.
- Develop and modify HMI screens, logic routines, and alarming protocols.
- Assist in the design and execution of SCADA system upgrades and expansions.
- Collaborate with engineers, IT, and operations to ensure seamless data flow and process visibility.
- Maintain accurate records of configurations, network topologies, and maintenance logs.
- Train and mentor SCADA Technician I personnel.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and company SCADA standards.

- 5 years minimum SCADA experience in the oil and gas industry
- Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, ClearSCADA, CygNet).
- Intermediate PLC/RTU programming (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Emerson, Red Lion etc.).
- Strong grasp of networking principles and communication troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with P&IDs, loop drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of basic electrical and wiring principles.
- Good administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
Education Requirements:
- Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Industrial Automation, or related field preferred or 5 years of SCADA and automation experience in lieu of a degree.
