The successful candidate:
Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 3 shifts per week
Schedule: Includes weekend and holiday rotation
Position Summary:
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of the care team, working under the supervision of a registered nurse to support patient care. This role is responsible for assisting with activities of daily living, performing select tests and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting clinical operations based on demonstrated competencies.
The PCT provides care across various age groups as defined in the scope of care. This individual must demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The role involves regular interaction with patients, families, and staff across the COH system and the broader community.
The ideal candidate embodies the mission, vision, and values of COH and adheres to the policies and procedures of the Stem Cell Transplant and Cell Therapy Program.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Listed in good standing on the Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry or certified EMT
Current CPR certification
Proficiency with computers, including electronic health records and Outlook
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities
