Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Whippany Actuation Systems, a fast-paced and innovative aerospace manufacturer specializing in electromechanical actuators for both commercial and military applications, is looking for an enthusiastic Quality Engineer who will act as an extension of the Quality Management System to ensure that all products and services are designed and produced in accordance with all established quality requirements and who is committed to exceeding customer expectations. In this role, you will be involved in all areas of the organization, establish relationships with our large customers and suppliers, grow professionally and have a direct influence on the success of the department and company.

In this role, you would typically:



  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, customer, and industry standards through reviews, audits, and documentation management (FAA, AS9102, etc.).
  • Lead quality activities in New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes, supplier qualification, and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement using quality metrics and defect reduction efforts.
  • Conduct inspections (FAI, incoming, in-process) and manage Material Review Board (MRB), supplier audits, and overall supplier quality performance.
  • Provide training, maintain quality systems/procedures, and represent quality during customer visits, audits, and compliance reviews.



We require:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • 3 years' experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering role.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Authorization to work in the US.



Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:



  • Previous experience interpreting blue prints and requirements, including familiarity with GD&T.
  • Aerospace & Defense industry experience.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and drive projects to completion.
  • Bias for action. Ability to recognize problems and opportunities. Ability to drive problem resolution and follow through to completion.
  • Results-oriented. Drives to achieve both short- and long-term goals.
  • Strong organizational skills - the ability to take notes and maintain data efficiently in a way it is easily accessible at any moment.
  • Customer focused. Driven to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
  • Innovative/Creative- drives to develop proprietary, product-differentiating technologies.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to handle and manage multiple projects simultaneously.



Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $80,000 to $110,000 per year. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position."
