MECHANICAL ENGINEER L CLEARANCE REQUIRED TO BEGIN WORK JOB DESCRIPTION The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet. Our company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer member to join the Shipping Container Recapitalization team. The Mechanical Engineer member will mentor, advise on, or perform engineering evaluations in support of the design, analysis, or testing of the development of radiological shipping containers, support equipment, or other reactor servicing system development work. Responsibilities may include mentoring or advising on test programs, designs and engineering drawings, alignment & tolerance studies (fit-up analysis), specifications, and nuclear safety documentation. Additionally, the engineer may support any engineering and business activities of the Reactor Servicing organization, as requested by the manager. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university - Experienced in Reactor Servicing and Spent Fuel System Development. Strong written and verbal communication skills Experienced with radiological shipping container system development is preferred Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software - Experience with Model Based |
