Weston is seeking a Radioactive Field Technician that is a reliable and safety-focused individual to support waste management operations. The ideal candidate will meet basic requirements and, ideally, bring relevant experience in hazardous materials handling and facility operations. This role involves hands-on tasks in a regulated environment, with training provided as needed.

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Expected Outcome:

  • Performing critical thinking about safety before performing hazardous tasks
  • Picking up, transporting, and handling waste/material on and off-site
  • Using a barcode scanner to retrieve and store waste/material
  • Utilizing air purifying and/or supplied air respiratory protection
  • Operating forklifts, various waste handling equipment, and hand tools
  • Operating facilities including monitoring mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License

It is also desirable, but not mandatory, that the candidate meets the following qualifications:

  • Two years' experience in waste management or related activities
  • Experience in operating materials-handling equipment
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour training and current 8-hour refresher training. If candidate does not possess, this will be provided
  • Ability to obtain a CDL with HAZMAT endorsement
  • Experience sorting/segregating material in a glovebox
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (Q)

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $38,500 - $51,300 - $64,100
