Job Title: Specialist, EHS FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Environmental Health & Safety Reports to: Manager, Environmental Health & Safety Work Location: Remote GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: The Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for implementing and supporting relevant environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs within the North American organization. This includes collaborating with a team of professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The EHS Specialist will work closely with front line employees and their leadership to maintain a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and sustainability. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's degree in a technical or scientific field relevant to EHS or the railroad industry. Licenses/Certifications: Must hold or obtain within 90 days of employment and be able to continue to maintain the following certifications:
Experience: 2+ years of safety experience in the maintenance of way or railroad industry.
*In lieu of education 4+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field relevant to EHS or the railroad industry. Licenses/Certifications: Professional safety or environmental certifications: OHST/CHST, CHMM, ASP, GSP, CSP, CIH WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.
