Position Summary: The Benefits Administrator functions as a trusted and collaborative Subject Matter Expert to UCH leadership and employees while supporting effective plan administration, annual benefits costs, budgets, open enrollment planning, and benefit plan compliance with governmental regulatory agencies for Benefits. Key Results Areas (KRAs):
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the benefits portal or vendor site to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Conducts monthly invoice reconciliation of all plan invoices/billing statements and submits invoices to accounting for payment.
- Administers employee insurance programs, including life, disability, and health insurance plans.
- Administers employee savings plans (HSA and FSA)
- Documents administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
- Manages leaves of absence processes to include Family Medical Leave.
- Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
- Manages annual open enrollment processes to ensure all critical tasks are completed, employee communication is timely, and deliverables are executed.
- Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring UCH provides competitive and reasonable benefits.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in benefits administration.
- Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators ensuring services are delivered within contractual agreements utilizing recurring touch-base meetings.
- Orients new hires, including physicians, and educates current employees on UCH benefits
- Works closely with auditors in the processing of 5500s for health and retirement plans.
- Reviews and processes educational assistance requests, including tuition reimbursement.
- Handles Worker's Compensation claims, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, STD/LTD, accident and death claims, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing.
- Ensures annual benefit plan audits are conducted, including dependent audits for healthcare benefits.

- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, Section 125, worker's compensation, Medicare, Social Security, and DOL requirements.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in benefits administration position in a corporate office Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or a related field; or 10+ years of human resources/benefits experience in lieu of degree Required
- PHR/SHRM-CP and/or CEBS certification Strongly Preferred
