Site Director Site Director will oversee the entire City Sanctuary Facility provider operation at a specific sanctuary hotel site and will serve as the main liaison with the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Site Program Administrator. As a Site Director, your primary objective is to ensure the smooth functioning and success of the site under your supervision. Overall, as a Site Director, you play a pivotal role in driving the success of the site by ensuring operational excellence, fostering a positive work environment, and achieving organizational objectives. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Site Director: 90K - 95K Pay commensurate with experience. Ensure the health, safety and welfare of clients and on-site staff, monitor the facility to ensure an acceptable level of cleanliness and ensure full compliance with all company policies, applicable legal mandates, agency standards and regulatory requirements, such as NYC Building Department codes, NYC Fire Department regulations, NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) rules governing homeless shelters, NYS Public Employee Safety and Health (PESH) regulations, and the Callahan Consent Decree governing clients' shelter rights Oversee the effective management of program capacity, timely provision of bed assignments for new and returning clients. Work closely with Vacancy Control to coordinate transport, report shelter census and bed availability figures - Manage onsite staff and subcontractors, provide direction and support to ensure programmatic goals and objectives are achieved, clients' social service needs are met, and independent living plans are developed, monitored, and executed.
Manage external relationships with community groups and the Local Community Board to address community concerns and promote good relations. Ensure adherence to agency policies and procedures, provide supervision, and conduct routine staff meetings Foster compliance with the company's Standards of Conduct Enforce applicable City, State, and Federal Directive Utilize CARES, and other report mechanisms, to track and monitor the various daily statistics, including entrants, demographics, diversions, assignments and exits. Develop and promote standards for quality assurance, conduct routine supervisory reviews in CARES, and review all daily statistical reports for accuracy Be responsible for responding to all emergencies at the facility and ensuring that they are resolved according to DHS' policies and procedures Ensure sufficient operational staffing is always maintained at the site and that clear coordination channels are facilitated with DHS Program Staff 24x7. In particular, the DHS Site Program Administrator. Serve as the main point of contact with DHS's Site Program Administrator and supporting staff. Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Site Director Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience operating in an area of social services, including one year at the managerial level; or Graduate education or a relevant license, as listed below, may substitute for up to a maximum of three years' experience in social services, but not for the one year of experience at the managerial level
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business, child welfare, counseling, economics, education, finance, human resources, labor relations, management, management science, nursing, operations research, organizational behavior, personnel or public administration, political science, psychology, sociology, social work, statistics, and/or urban studies may substitute for two years of experience; and/or Graduate education beyond the baccalaureate degree may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university in the area(s) listed above for each year of experience up to a maximum of three years; or A valid New York State Registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) may substitute for three years of experience
Experience working with the NYC Department of Homeless Services shelter system, preferred Excellent organization and communication skills Able to effectively manage significant administrative and process documentation. Must be bilingual (English and Spanish) Must pass drug and background check
