The University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for an Administrative Assistant in the Administration and Finance Department. The primary focus of this role is to provide professional-level administrative and operational support to senior leadership, including the Chief of Staff and members of the Chancellor's Suite. Responsibilities include managing front office operations, answering a multi-line phone, responding to incoming correspondence, and coordinating logistics for campus-wide events, official visits, and other activities to ensure the smooth functioning of the university community.

This is a full-time, 12-month position with an hourly wage of $18.00. The University of Wisconsin System has a nationally top ranked retirement plan and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities

- Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision

- Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations

- Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums

- Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures

- Provide back-up for calendar coordination and expense reports for C-Suite leaders.

- Serve as key coordinator for Ullsvik Hall.

- Responsible for purchasing card and compliance with practices, policies and procedures as implemented.

- Additional duties as assigned, aligned with professional skills and general scope of position.

Required Qualifications:

- High School Diploma/GED

- 2 years minimum office/administrative support experience.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills ability to interact successfully with faculty, staff, and students as well as external constituents-regional, statewide and national.

- Excellent telephone protocol.

- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.

- Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information and records. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality, responsibility and independence in completing responsibilities.

- Ability to operate independently and to independently set priorities to meet the demands of the position.

- Documented excellence in the following areas: self-awareness and professional development communication and personal effectiveness customer/people oriented achievement orientation.

- Excellent customer orientation and problem-solving skills.

- Knowledge of various software programs including in MS Office applications, computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.
