Job Description

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading and working hands-on alongside the Tiger Launch Team. Aside from the leadership team, the Tiger Launch facility consists of high school students that are employed as co-op employees assembling Wood Reels and recycling Plugs for our Reel Division. You must have a safety-first mindset, the ability to collaborate across teams, and a sharp eye for spotting defects. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and pride in both your analytical and hands-on abilities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading, developing and mentoring a team of employees (high school students) in multiple operations (Recycle Plugs, Reel Assembly, Tee Nutting).

• Collaborating closely with other Team Leads.

• Ensuring safety compliance: provide adequate training and enforce Sonoco safety policies. Maintain safety documentation (e.g., JSA's, HECP's, SDS's).

• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area; familiarity with 5S is a plus.

• Overseeing product quality: ensure that all products shipped meet customer specifications and that orders are delivered on time and in full. Investigate and resolve quality issues.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customer personnel.

• Working with the Division Service Center Manager or Site Operations Manager to achieve division KPIs and explain variances. Develop site-level KPIs aligned with division goals.

• Applying critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

• Assisting other departments as needed.

• Performing administrative duties including production reporting, order entry, leading monthly inventory, ordering materials/components, and other tasks as assigned.

We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have:

• 5+ years of experience leading a team (preferred).

• Prior experience working with and/or leading high school students, with the ability to serve as a mentor and positive role model.

• Previous leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping operations.

• Shipping & Receiving experience (preferred).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to lead by example and hold others accountable.

• The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.

• Experience reading and interpreting instructions and specification sheets.

• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology and tools.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Availability to work Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM-9:30 PM.
