Shift: 1 PM - 9:30 PM

Job Description Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading and working hands-on alongside the Tiger Launch Team. Aside from the leadership team, the Tiger Launch facility consists of high school students that are employed as co-op employees assembling Wood Reels and recycling Plugs for our Reel Division. You must have a safety-first mindset, the ability to collaborate across teams, and a sharp eye for spotting defects. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and pride in both your analytical and hands-on abilities. What You'll Be Doing
Leading, developing and mentoring a team of employees (high school students) in multiple operations (Recycle Plugs, Reel Assembly, Tee Nutting). Collaborating closely with other Team Leads. Ensuring safety compliance: provide adequate training and enforce Sonoco safety policies. Maintain safety documentation (e.g., JSA's, HECP's, SDS's). Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area; familiarity with 5S is a plus. Overseeing product quality: ensure that all products shipped meet customer specifications and that orders are delivered on time and in full. Investigate and resolve quality issues. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customer personnel. Working with the Division Service Center Manager or Site Operations Manager to achieve division KPIs and explain variances. Develop site-level KPIs aligned with division goals. Applying critical thinking and troubleshooting skills. Assisting other departments as needed. Performing administrative duties including production reporting, order entry, leading monthly inventory, ordering materials/components, and other tasks as assigned.
We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have:
5+ years of experience leading a team (preferred). Prior experience working with and/or leading high school students, with the ability to serve as a mentor and positive role model. Previous leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping operations. Shipping & Receiving experience (preferred). Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to lead by example and hold others accountable. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. Experience reading and interpreting instructions and specification sheets. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology and tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Availability to work Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM-9:30 PM.
