PURPOSE OF POSITION: To oversee and assist with the physical setup and breakdown of banquet and event spaces, ensuring all rooms are prepared according to event specifications and company standards. This role supports the Banquet Manager by supervising the set-up team, maintaining inventory, and ensuring exceptional guest service throughout the event lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Setup & Execution
  • Supervise and assist with the setup of function rooms, including tables, chairs, dance floors, podiums, and other equipment.
  • Ensure all event spaces are set accurately and on time according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and established standards.
  • Conduct pre-event inspections to verify room readiness and cleanliness.
  • Act as a liaison between Banquet Operations, Catering Managers, Event Delivery teams, and group contacts during events.
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events.

Inventory & Equipment Management
  • Maintain and manage departmental inventories, including linen, equipment, and supplies.
  • Monitor par levels and coordinate routine maintenance of banquet equipment.
  • Project supply needs and ensure availability of items such as pads, pens, water pitchers, and candy jars.

Team Leadership & Training
  • Delegate tasks and provide on-the-job training to banquet set-up staff.
  • Schedule staff to meet business demands and productivity goals.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings and attend all relevant property meetings.

Guest Service & Safety
  • Respond to guest feedback and complaints with professionalism and urgency.
  • Ensure staff are trained in and follow all safety and emergency procedures.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations and empower staff to deliver exceptional service.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in banquet management, food and beverage, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Bilingual preferred.


PAY RATE:
  • $65-70k annually
  • Exact compensation to be determined based on experience and qualifications.


DATES OF EMPLOYEMENT:
  • May include periods of layoffs or reduced hours
