Job Title: Chemical Engineer

Duration: 6 + Months (Possibility of Extension & Conversion depending on Performance)

Pay Range: $35 - 44/hr.

Location: Kansas City, MO

Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to support our process operations teams. This position will focus on addressing a backlog of action items, updating documentation, and driving improvement projects that have built up due to increased activity in recent years. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement mid- to long-term improvements in process operations, reliability, and training, ensuring efficient and effective manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with technical and operational teams to resolve outstanding PHA, MOC, optimization, and other action items for chemical processes.
• Complete technical definition, validation, and reporting for environmental data required for permits and annual reports.
• Review and improve plant documentation, including startup/shutdown/operations procedures and P&IDs.
• Execute technical definition, documentation, and implementation of pressure safety design packages.
• Partner with plant engineering to scope, document, and plan process and reliability improvement projects.
• Support improvements in training programs for plant operations staff.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in process measurement and applications within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processes; familiarity with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP requirements.
• Proven ability to lead small groups and work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills.
