Job Summary:

The Inventory Planner ensures optimal inventory levels of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) parts to support uninterrupted production at the fabrication plant. This role focuses on availability of critical spare parts for machine repairs and preventative maintenance, while minimizing excess stock and associated carrying costs. This position reports to the Controller.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in inventory control, planning, or supply chain management preferably within a manufacturing or fabrication setting.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate forecasts for repair and spare parts based on maintenance schedules, equipment reliability data, and historical usage.
  • Monitor stock levels and set reorder points to ensure availability of critical parts.
  • Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess parts and recommend actions to reduce waste.
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP and CMMS systems, ensuring alignment with financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to source repair parts and negotiate vendor lead times.
  • Track open purchase orders, expedite urgent parts, and communicate delivery timelines to maintenance teams.
  • Assist the Controller with monthly inventory valuations, cost tracking, and audit reconciliations.
  • Reconcile physical inventory with system records; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
