Date: Oct 1, 2025 Location: Company: The Integrated RF and Photonics Group develops electromagnetic technologies that improve the nation's sensing, communications, and electronic warfare capabilities. The group's focus areas include novel RF apertures, RF-digital systems and integrated photonics. Its efforts range from early-stage research to complete system prototypes. The group seeks to enhance the Laboratory's impact in all of its mission areas by transitioning leading-edge technology into many domains. Position Description
The Integrated RF and Photonics Group seeks a summer intern to support design, analysis, and testing of prototype antenna/microwave, RF-digital or photonic systems. The work may include simulation, modeling, data analysis, software/firmware development and/or laboratory testing. The successful candidate must be working on a PhD, MS, or BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or similar field. Research or coursework in electromagnetics, FPGA development, or photonics is preferred. Summer Research Program Overview
The Summer Research Program offers students the chance to apply their academic knowledge to real-world national security challenges while working alongside leading scientists and engineers. As an SRP intern, you'll engage in hands-on research, receive dedicated mentorship, and take part in professional development opportunities including workshops, tech talks, and networking events-all while building connections within a vibrant community of peers.
