V2X is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join the Modernization & Sustainment Acquisition team. The Buyer II will procure medium to complex materials and services requirements in support of multiple programs. The procurement professional will work closely with external suppliers and internal customers, including material program managers, manufacturing, planning, engineering, and mission assurance and quality. Job Responsibilities:
- Review and assess purchase requisitions to ensure all criteria and requirements are included/addressed.
- Review drawings, specifications, and purchase history to determine sourcing strategy.
- Performing bid/proposal activities, including PIAs, RFIs, and RFQs.
- Review quotes, analyze results, and determine negotiation plans/strategies, as well as address any exceptions to flow downs, specifications, quality requirements, or terms and conditions requirements.
- Conduct formal negotiations with suppliers to achieve fair and reasonable results. If applicable, perform supplier assessments with the program team to finalize supplier selection.
- Formally document purchase orders, including details of the summary of award, source justification; price analysis methodology, negotiation strategy, and summary; performance to budget/target; and risk assessment.
- Perform routine post-award management activities, including PO acknowledgement, delivery status, expediting, receiving, and invoicing issues.
- Communicate clearly and be proactive in a very fast-paced environment.
- Be flexible, innovative, work with speed and agility, yet be thorough, and drive tasks to completion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
- A minimum of 4 years of directly related government or industrial purchasing or subcontracting experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and being able to present financial information clearly and succinctly.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to exchange information and interface effectively with suppliers are required.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.
- Ability to balance workload by multitasking
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience using SAP (Procurement functions, Business Warehouse, Business Objects)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.)
- Experience with Six Sigma and productivity improvement
- DoD procurement experience and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
- Experience conducting negotiations with suppliers on pricing as well as Terms and Conditions.
- Experience performing price analysis on supplier quotes and proposals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to think strategically
