Position Summary

The Institute for Space and Nuclear Power Studies has an opening for a part-time position starting Fall 2025 for qualified undergraduate students in Nuclear Engineering to assist in research projects related to thermal-hydraulics and heat transfer for advanced reactors, and the autonomous operation and control of small modular reactors and micro modular reactors. Successful applicants will assist modeling and simulation research, data processing, and analyzing results.



Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Desirable qualifications include knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, programming experience with MATLAB and Python to assist in data processing. Potential candidate is expected to work independently with limited supervision on assigned tasks and in a team.
Flexible work schedule and the hours for successful applicants could average up to 10.0 hrs. per week
