About the Job

Job Description:
This position will be in charge of developing energy determination algorithms for the Liquid Argon Time Projection Chambers used in the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment. This work involves parsing simulated data to extract and analyze the information necessary to reconstruct the energy of the incoming neutrino.

80% Development of the neutrino event energy determination algorithm
Parse simulated data to extract and analyze the information necessary to reconstruct the energy of the incoming neutrino.
Write the software that will use the information for a given neutrino interaction to calculate the expected neutrino energy and associated uncertainties.

10% Periodically reporting and presenting results of the neutrino energy algorithm development to the PI's research group and the relevant DUNE working groups via collaboration zoom meetings.

10% Other duties assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
*BS/BA in Physics or a combination of education and relative work experience to equal at least four years
*Experience with Particle Physics data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
*Experience with Liquid Argon Time Projection Chambers
