Description

The Dining Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup. This position maintains work area in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service.

Ecumen Brooks consists of 38 assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 12 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Owatonna, Minnesota. Schedule: Part-Time Day. 11a-2p. 18 scheduled hours every 2 weeks. Every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $16.50 - $19.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities:




  1. Provide warm, responsive, and courteous service to residents and guests.



  2. Serve meals according to dietary guidelines, portion sizes, and temperature requirements.



  3. Keep work areas clean, safe, and well-organized; follow food safety and sanitation standards.



  4. Label, date, and rotate food to maintain a fresh inventory.



  5. Safely operate kitchen and dining equipment.



  6. Complete daily, weekly, opening, and closing cleaning tasks.



  7. Report any noticeable changes in residents' health to a supervisor.



  8. Address resident concerns or requests promptly and communicate issues to leadership.



  9. Work cooperatively with team members and adapt to changing needs.



  10. Assist with special events or functions as needed.



  11. Respect and care for community property and equipment.



  12. Perform other duties as assigned.





Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • Must be 15 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations



Preferred Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Commercial kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • Previous senior care experience
  • Serv Safe or other food safety and sanitation training/certification
