Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, configuration, hardening, and sustainment of Windows (Windows 10, Server 2016/2019/2022) and Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS) systems across multiple enclaves and classification levels, in accordance with NIST 800-53, DFARS, and DISA STIG/SRG standards.
  • Architect, secure, and maintain enterprise-class virtualization environments (VMware vSphere, ESXi), storage solutions (NetApp), and SIEM/monitoring tools.
  • Plan, integrate, and validate new technologies, coordinating with engineering and cybersecurity teams to meet evolving mission requirements.
  • Serve as a technical SME during assessments, inspections, and RMF/ATO-related activities; provide audit responses and evidence packages.
  • Perform advanced vulnerability management, to include scanning (Nessus, SCAP), analysis, and remediation across complex, air-gapped environments.
  • Direct user account management and access control across Active Directory, LDAP, and enterprise authentication services, including cross-domain solutions.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, security baselines, architecture diagrams, and SOPs for continuity and compliance.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to junior system administrators, ensuring adherence to processes and timely issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with program leadership to design, implement, and enforce system sustainment strategies, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations plans.
  • Ensure proper marking, handling, and storage of classified materials in compliance with DoD standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline. BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5 of experience
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a Secret clearance
  • At least 3 years supporting classified environments.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+ CE, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience leading system administration in secure, standalone, and multi-domain environments.
  • Advanced expertise in virtualization, storage, networking, cybersecurity, and cross-domain solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of RMF, JSIG, DAAPM, and DoD cybersecurity controls, with proven experience in supporting ATO submissions.

Desired:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM solutions, endpoint security tools, IDS/IPS, and forensic analysis.
  • Experience with cloud security and hybrid architectures (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
  • Familiarity with mission support systems in test and evaluation or range operations environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, team building, and cross-discipline collaboration.
