Position Summary The Assistant Director of the College of Engineering Makerspace plays a key role in supporting for-credit instruction, laboratory operations, and user training within the Makerspace. This position assists with coordinating instructional activities, setting up laboratory tests and experiments, and updating instructional materials. The role is responsible for developing and implementing training protocols, authorizing qualified users, and ensuring safe and effective operation of all equipment. The specialist manages equipment, materials, and supplies; evaluates and recommends new purchases and upgrades; and oversees student workers in project fabrication and scheduling. In addition, this position contributes to the strategic development of processes and guidelines, assists with capital improvement projects, and represents the Makerspace through tours, events, and conferences. Duties & Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Three years of experience in makerspace or prototyping shop.
