Zions is a seeking a Risk and Control Assessment Analys to join the Operational Risk Support team within Operational Risk Management (ORM). The Operational Risk Support team oversees bank-wide programs to help senior management in identifying, assessing, and monitoring key risks and related controls. Working in Operational Risk Management is a unique opportunity and establishes a great foundation for a banking career, as risk officers are exposed to the broad scope of the bank and its operations.

Essential Functions

The Risk and Control Assessment Analyst is responsible for working with team members to support the execution of the Bank's Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA program. This includes:

  • Conducting independent review and challenge of RCSAs for quality and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of RCSA methodologies, tools, and governance practices.
  • Supporting training and guidance initiatives to promote RCSA program awareness and consistency.
  • Performing ad hoc risk projects.
  • Documents quality review activities in a structured format, including recommendations and action items.
  • Validates action plans related to risk and control deficiencies.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations to stakeholders regarding the Bank's RCSA methodology and approach, including risk identification techniques and control evaluation.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field and some audit, risk management, compliance, financial services or other directly related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
  • Basic knowledge of risk and control assessment techniques and concepts, and accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of bank and government regulatory requirements.
  • Must have good presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively work on a team and with others in various leadership positions.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem resolution, analytical and modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications and other databases, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Project management skills are helpful.
